Capital Contribution

Capital Contribution means:
the cash or property acquired by a corporation from a shareholder without the receipt of additional stock to the shareholder. Instead, the amount is added to the basis of the shareholder's existing stock, and the corporation's basis is carried over from the shareholder. The capital contribution is not taxable to the corporation. Former IRC (check if this IRC provision is current here) §118.
