Copyright means:
protection by statute or by the common law, giving artists and authors exclusive right to publish their works or to determine who may so publish. A copyright is considered an intangible asset that may be amortized using the straight-line depreciation method over its useful life; 15 years if purchased by a trade or business under Former IRC (check if this IRC provision is current here) § 197(e)(4)(c).
