Departure Permit

Departure Permit means:
a certificate of compliance from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service certifying that a departing alien has satisfied U.S. income tax laws; also called a sailing permit. To obtain a departure permit, the departing alien must file Former Federal Tax Form (check here if the Form is current) 1040C, U.S. Departing Alien Income Tax Return, or Former Federal Tax Form (check here if the Form is current) 2063, U.S. Departing Alien Income Tax Statement. The departing alien is still required to file Former Federal Tax Form (check here if the Form is current) 1040NR after the end of the year.
