Self-deaung

Self-deaung

Self-deaung means:
the use of authority, control, or responsibility by a person in a fiduciary capacity (or other related party) that results in income or other benefit to that person. A person who engages in self-dealing with a qualified employee benefit plan is subject to a 5% excise tax on the amount involved. There is an additional 100% excise tax if the transaction is not corrected by the earliest of the date of mailing of a notice of deficiency, the date on which the initial 5% excise tax was assessed, or the date on which the correction is completed.
