Social Security Act
Social Security Act means:
the federal retirement plan enacted by Congress in 1935. The original purpose (unchanged today) was to provide a system that requires the current working generation to contribute to the support of older, retired workers. The Social Security Act was passed in response to old-age dependency resulting from Depression-generated phenomena.
