Syndicate

Syndicate means:
a group of individuals who have formed a joint venture to undertake a project that the participants would be unable or unwilling to pursue alone. A syndicate may be treated as a partnership or corporation for tax purposes. Former IRC (check if this IRC provision is current here) §1256(e)(3).
