Multiple Support Agreement

Multiple Support Agreement means:
an agreement made by two or more taxpayers regarding the dependency exemption. When two or more taxpayers provide more than half of a person's support, but no one person provides more than half the support, an agreement can be made allowing one of the taxpayers to claim the dependent. Form 2120, Multiple Support Agreement, must be attached to the tax return of the individual claiming the dependency exemption. IRC (check if this IRC provision is current here) § 152(c).

An agreement that states which taxpayer can claim a person as a dependent when two or more taxpayers provide more than half of the support for someone else.
