Refund Check

Refund Check means:
an amount paid to a taxpayer by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service when withholding and estimated tax payments exceed the tax due for the year. A refund of federal taxes paid is not taxable income. A refund of state taxes is taxable, however, if the taxpayer claimed a deduction for these taxes.
